Management TeamTyler RossPresidentA real estate broker by trade, Tyler founded Scholar Properties in 2011. Since then, he has led the acquisition/development of 250+ rental units and grown the company’s development pipeline to $100m+ across emerging markets in Southern Ontario. Tyler’s accountabilities include sourcing acquisitions, all aspects of financial assessment and modelling, debt and equity financing, and project implementation/execution. In 2013, Tyler founded Scholar Property Management, which performs property management functions across the Scholar Properties portfolio, including lease negotiations, property maintenance and managing the tenant experience.Jessica CaplanVice President & General CounselAs VP and General Counsel, Jessica oversees day-to-day operations of the business and provides senior management with advice on company strategies and implementation. Jessica manages a multi-disciplinary team and is accountable for the quality assurance, compliance, legal and risk management aspects of the business. Prior to joining Scholar Properties, Jessica spent 7 years in private practice at a downtown Toronto law firm, followed by five years at the Law Society of Upper Canada specializing in regulatory compliance and real estate matters.
